Bi-Monthly Brewing
Workshop
Are you interested in medieval beverages? Do you want
to experiment with the arts of fermentation, but don’t know an
airlock from a hydrometer? Are you already brewing but would like to
expand out of American Homebrewers Association standards into
something actually authentic, or need a kitchen with more elbow
room, or just want some company on your brewing project? Come to our
bi-monthly brewing workshop!
The format is wide open – every other month there
will be a brewing workshop at the home of Baron Dorigen of Lewes in
Burlington. If you want to get started in brewing, let us know and
we’ll help you try it out. If there’s a particular project you’re
interested in, contact us ahead of time and we’ll give it a shot. If
you just want to see what it’s all about, come and see what the
house brewer is working on. All experience levels are welcome, but
if you know more than we do, we’ll expect you to extemporaneously
teach us something.
Come and learn with us!
The dates and any specific topics will be posted to the BBM Yahoo
discussion list and calendar – please call or email us at
bbm.brewing@yahoo.com to find out exactly when the next session
will be. It’s helpful to know how many people are coming, but feel
free to just show up. If you’d like to come but the person with you
isn’t interested in brewing, tell them to check out The Workshop In
The Other Room (also listed on this web page)!
The house is home to a scribe, an infant and two indoor cats, with
the associated amount of clutter, dust, and dander. Plan your
medications accordingly. You have been warned.

Arts & Sciences Workshop - The Workshop In The Other Room
Why should my husband have all the fun? While the brewers are
working in the kitchen, there ought to be something for the rest of
us. There are other rooms in the house – let’s have a workshop!
The Workshop In The Other Room is just that – every other month at
the home of Mistress Eloise of Coulter in Burlington while the
brewing workshop is running in the kitchen, we’ll be doing something
else in the living room, or the dining room, or the library, or on
the deck, or in the yard, depending on the weather and the project.
Topics will vary depending on what people have requested or what
Eloise has decided that she wants to do this time if there aren’t
any better suggestions. If there is something that you want to learn
– let me know. We’ll try to find a teacher and a date to make it
happen. Do you have a project that you need help with? Bring it to
TWITOR – many hands make light work. Do you want to teach something?
This is a great forum. Obviously we will need to be cognizant of
limitations of space, materials, splatter vector and such. But if
you have an idea, let me know and we’ll see what we can do – no idea
is too outrageous! We might not DO it (at least not at MY house,)
but what the heck – ask!
Come and learn something. Come and teach something!
The dates and topics will be posted to the BBM Yahoo discussion list
and calendar – please call or email us at
twitor@att.net to find out when the next session will be. If the
topic is anything that requires you to acquire or buy-in for
materials, or that requires pre-work, that information will be
posted to the discussion list with enough advance warning to
accomplish. It’s helpful to know how many people are coming, but
feel free to just show up. If you’re interested in brewing, check
out the bi-monthly brewing workshop in the kitchen, which is also
listed on this web page.
The house is home to a scribe, an infant and two indoor cats, with
the associated amount of clutter, dust, and dander. Plan your
medications accordingly. You have been warned.
